16 May E28 Figeholm

We had an ‘abrupt’ start to the day today!  It turned out that the really lovely and beautiful place we had stopped in overnight was in the nature reserve and we were NOT supposed to be there!  An ‘official’ slapped a note on the windscreen at four o’clock in the morning asking us to move the van as soon as possible!  Well, I heard him outside and we offered our apologies and moved the van immediately.  After this we could not get back to sleep so we had breakfast and got up.  (In our defence we did ask the tourist office if we could park there and they said yes).

Anyway, after exploring some more of the island we set off in the afternoon towards Stockholm.  Late afternoon we pulled up into the lovely coastal fishing village of Figeholm only to find every carpark was ‘forbidden for motorhomes’!  As it happens we did find a lay-by opposite this house and I asked the owner if they would mind if we stayed overnight there.  The owner (Daniel) was really nice and said no problem at all.

The village looks very pretty so we will have a butchers hook tomorrow.
