Back in Norway now and on our way we spotted a lovely picnic area with this fire hut which is for public use. Inside there was a huge stack of seasoned wood so we could not resist having a fire and cooking our dinner ‘the bonfire way’. It was cold and rainy and the open fire kept us warm and toasty...
Katy stood by the entrance….
Grahame doing ‘man stuff’ and tending the fire (when I said cooking the bonfire way I meant putting potatoes, onions and sausages in foil and cremating them like we did when we were kids!)
The result was indeed very tasty (as long as you like carbon flavoured food)
These picnic areas are quite common throughout Norway and Sweden and often include prepared stacks of wood for members of the public to use.
